Employees who work in a remote area (as defined by the ATO) away from their usual place of residence may be eligible to salary package the cost of airfares to and from your usual place of residence to your workplace with the fly-in, fly-out benefit.

What is allowed?

  • The cost of the self funded airfares for the employee in relation to travel between their usual place of employment and usual place of residence
  • Only available to employees self funded airfares.

What’s not allowed:

  • Airfares not for the employee
  • Holiday travel
  • Travel that is not in relation to the employee returning to their usual place of employment or usual place of residence
